The sale of cars in the country has decreased by 50.30%. According to the latest data released by the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association, the sales of cars during the first nine months of the current fiscal year 2022-23 has decreased by 50.30 percent compared to the same months of the previous year. Accordingly, 85,776 cars were sold during July-March 2022-23 as against 172,612 units sold during July-March 2021-22. Break-up data shows that Honda Civic and City sold 12,381 units during the same period of the year 2022-23 compared to last year. 28,830 units were sold for the year, thus showing a decline of 57.05 percent. Sales of Toyota Corolla and Yaris cars also declined by 63.39 percent as it declined from 43,695 units in the same period last year to 15,994 units this year. units. However, the sales of Suzuki Swift increased by 1627.16% as its sales rose to 8,584 units from 497 units last year. Sales during the same period were recorded at 17,686 units while the sales of Suzuki Wagon R also declined to 5,022 units from 16,916 units in the same period last year. Suzuki Alto also saw a 42.25% increase in sales from 53,241 units to 30,744 units. A sharp decline was witnessed, with Suzuki Bolan sales falling to 3,865 units as against 9,562 units sold in the same period last year.
