NADRA launched a CNIC data monitoring app allowing citizens to see the verification history of their identity data, including which institution verified it, when, and what type of verification occurred.
NADRA has introduced a CNIC data monitoring app through which citizens will, for the first time, be able to monitor the use of their identity data themselves. According to media reports, NADRA introduced the new data monitoring app to protect CNIC data, enabling citizens to find out where and for what purpose their identity data was used. The app will provide a complete history of data verification, clearly showing which institution carried out verification, when it happened, and what type of verification it was. Officials said this step will enable effective checks and balances against misuse of citizens’ identity data and will help prevent data leaks and illegal verification. Through the NADRA app, privacy and data security will increase and cybercrime and fake verification cases can be discouraged.
